Meet the Staff


Rev. Stephen A. Mock

Rev. Stephen "Steve" Mock is the Pastor for our church beginning his ministry here in July, 2003. His dedication to his faith and to the church is a strength that we all benefit from. Steve is married to Joan and they have two adult children, Sarah and Jason. Steve enjoys his family, sports, reading, classical and contemporary Christian music. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and is a longtime Steelers fan. He is a graduate of Westminster College, New Wilmington, PA and received his Masters of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts.  Steve has served congregations in Ohio, Kansas and Clearwater, FL. His passion is sharing the good news of God's love in Jesus Christ to the world.


Rev. Larry Yerger
Assistant Pastor

Rev. Larry Yerger came on staff as our volunteer Assistant Pastor in November 2013 and was hired part-time in January 2015 to help provide leadership in Discipleship and assist Pastor Mock in preaching, teaching and pastoral care. Larry is married to Andrea and they have one adult son, Jay. Larry was a Pastor in Minnesota, Florida and Texas. He is currently teaching our Wednesday morning Bible study. 


Randall Curtis, Director of Music, Organist

Randy has been our Director of Music since June of 2004 and has been an Organist, Pianist, Worship Leader, and Choir Director for over 38 years.  He is married to Diane and they have 3 grown children, Jill, Daniel, and Michael. Randy and Diane both come from Greenville, PA where Randy graduated from Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA in 1980. He presently works full time as a Production Lead Supervisor for Florida Power and Light.  Randy has a passion for all music that praises our Lord from Contemporary Praise music to organ classics like Bach and Handel.  He is also an avid Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers fan.  He has previously served in Baptist, Presbyterian, Methodist, and UCC congregations in Ft. Myers and Punta Gorda.


 Debbie Rostad, Office Manager

Debbie joins us from Atlanta where she worked for 19 years at Ivy Creek Presbyterian Church (PCA). She is originally from Eau Claire, WI and has worked as a financial administrator as well as a church administrator. Her husband Pete and she have two children, Erik and his wife Stephanie and Kristi and her husband Chris. They also are the proud grandparents of Scotlyn. Debbie was a voice major in college and loves to sing. She was a member of The Michael O'Neal Singers in Atlanta and has sung in her church choirs wherever God has called her to live.


Joe Cherny, Treasurer

Joe was born and raised in Kingston, NY. He is a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years, including one year in the Korean War. He retired from IBM Corporation and moved to Florida in 2000. He has five children and three granddaughters. Joe enjoys fishing, playing golf, and volunteering at the hospital. He's a Stephen Minister and a Bereavement Team member.


Gail Thornton, Office Volunteer

Gail moved here in 1997 from Montgomery, IL and joined the church in that same year. She has been a volunteer office assistant since September of 2002. Gail has 4 children, 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 3 great, great-grandchildren. She enjoys photography, reading, and playing on her computer but her favorite things are going to visit her friend Mickey Mouse at Disney World.


Dianne Sizemore, Office Volunteer

Dianne came to Florida in February 1959 from Coshocton, OH and settled in Sarasota.  She moved to Port Charlotte in 2001 and joined First Presbyterian Church in 2003, where she is an Elder, Mission Chair and Sunday night prayer warrior.  Dianne has a passionate heart for mission, especially Immokalee and the farm worker community. She is involved in several Bible study small groups, Prayer Shawl Ministry and Presbyterian Women. She has 6 children, 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Dianne lives in Port Charlotte with her little black toy poodle Maximillian of Troy, who is the" Neighborhood Inspector."  She enjoys collecting angels and dolls, reading, sewing, painting, needlepoint and crocheting.
